Having a 2:00 PM departure meant that I had plenty of time to get
reading in the morning to get to the airport. I looked through my
remaining Turkish money to assess how much I had left. I had already
purchased two tokens for the transport to the airport, so I took the
chance and walked around a bit to spend every last lira. I knew I was
taking a chance in doing so - walking around with no local currency -
but I had dollars, euro, and an ATM card in my pocket, so I was fine.
Also, when I told Ramazan at the hotel about my plan, he insisted that
I take his cell phone number so that I could call him in case I needed
