jeanchia An interview with a very cute and talented lady from Malaysia
merkal2005: Hi Jeanchia, please tell us something about yourself and
your lovely country.
jeanchia: Hi Merkal, thank you for your interest.
Let's start with my name first. My name is Jean, a Chinese lady in her
25. As you know, I am from Malaysia. My interests are food, fashion,
pets, arts and travels.
Now, about my country. Malaysia is a beautiful multiracial country
with Malay being the largest ethnic group, followed by Chinese and
Indian. Of course, there are also others minor ethnic groups like
Kadazan, Iban and Bajau. Despite the differences in all these ethnic
groups, we live in peace and harmony, complementing each others to
share and learn about cultural mosaic and vision of the nation. Our
national flower is the beautiful Hibiscus also known as Bunga Raya and
was chosen by our first prime minister, Tunku Abdul Rahman in 1960.
What I love most about my country is that the many cuisines we can get
here. For instance, we have malay food which is often described as
spicy, Chinese food which uses steaming technique almost all the time,
Indian food which uses spices as the heart of their cooking, Nyonya
food which is an interesting amalgamation of Malay and Chinese
cuisines and the list goes on.... (my stomach is growling just
thinking of it)
merkal2005: When did you start blogging and why? What are your long
term targets?
jeanchia: I started my first blog at friendster. It was called
Drifting Along The Line, meant to be my online life journal. I lose my
interest in blogging since my dad's accident. Everytime I wanted to
blog, I would think of my dad and my post would be sad and gloomy. So,
I stopped.
I started back blogging in March this year with an intention to share
my recipes and happy moments. My first post was on 24 March, which is
about my precious niece. She's a sweetheart to me. ^^
I know nothing about the world of blogosphere until I joined MyBlogLog
and BlogCatalog which has given me a great opportunity to meet other
great and intelligent bloggers around the world.
I hope that my blog, A Great Pleasure would be a platform for me to
share my recipes and other life related stories with bloggers around
the world, as well as with my friends whom I seldom meet due to our
hectic schedules.
merkal2005: Have you ever been to Istanbul before ? Would you be
interested in a blogger's meeting in Istanbul?
jeanchia: No. But it'll be a great pleasure to be able to visit your
interesting country.
Hmm.. a blogger's meeting in Istanbul? If accommodation and airtickets
are sponsored, sure, why not? I love meeting up with new peoples. :)
