istanbul is as cold as helsinki



Istanbul is as cold as Helsinki

Istanbul is located further down south than Nice but the weather is

from another planet. When I left from Nice yesterday the sun was

shining and it was +18'c warm. On arrival to Istanbul, I saw drips of

snow.

The weather at the moment is not that different from Helsinki. I guess

it should feel like home. I have locked myself inside the house and

have yet to go outside.

I have to go through another phase of adaption. Bet used to Istanbul

again. Luckily, I have a lecture tomorrow so I also have a reason to

go outside.

I am still re-considering my travel plans for January. I would like to

see Lebanon but I want a travel companion.

So I have another plan: going to the Balkans.

Sofia-Belgrade-Zagreb-Split could also be worth the trip. Plus the

train rides would not be so long.

I have been in Zagreb and Split before in the summer and I loved those

cities. Winter has a different atmosphere but I suspect that the

weather would be at least slightly warmer on the Croatian coast.

Of course, there is always the third alternative. I have travelled
